HIGHLY EFFICIENT
Underfloor heating uses lower flow temperatures than traditional radiators, covering much larger surface areas and still able to heat effectively. It is around 25% more efficient than a radiator system.
SAFETY
Underfloor heating has no exposed hot or sharp edges providing a safe option for young children and the elderly. It also provides a much safer environment for household pets.
OPEN PLAN LIVING
UFH is an ‘invisible’ heating system as the tube is hidden beneath the floor. This frees up precious wall space, ideal for open plan living and rooms such as kitchens where space is at a premium.

Our system is so advances it sets the new standard for premium underfloor heating performance. At the heart of the system is a design team with the experience and software unrivaled by any company in the industry.

This combination of superior design, with our impeccable product quality, delivers unprecedented energy performance, fast heat responsiveness and exceptional levels of comfort.
Design
To ensure simplistic integration to the M&E system, our design team provide the following information from the outset:
The Staple System can be installed to insulation depts as low as 25mm thick. It is the quickest and most cost-effective form of underfloor heating within a screed. The pipe is simply clipped to the insulation using barbed staples/clips at the required pipe spacing. Once the system is complete, it is pressure tested with either air or water to check for any leaks – either due to damaged to the pipework, or a loose connection at the manifold.
The Plastic Tray System is best suited to areas where the use of Insulation isn’t possible as the tray can be fixed directly to the subfloor and can still provide a flexible and secure pipe fixing. It can also offer some form of protection if screeding is required a while after the pipes have been installed although this is no recommended.
Installing underfloor heating within a screed, is flexible, quick and effective. The screed allows for a rapid and even radiant heat transfer into the building, providing unrivalled levels of comfort and interior design flexibility.
The Clipping Rail System is typical on projects with little floor insulation. The rail is either screwed down to the insulation or stuck down using an adhesive backing strip. Once the clip rails have been placed into position, the underfloor heating pipe is laid and clipped down in accordance with the design drawings.
The Aluminum Spreader Plate System is the most common when integrating underfloor heating into a suspended floor. The grooved aluminium plate spans the joist and allows the pipe to sit below the joist while being held firmly in place. The chipboard or ply flooring is then laid over the top of the joists as normal. Typically, a rockwool type insulation would be installed between the joists.
Floor Construction
Underfloor heating systems to suit all floor constructions. From new build to existing floors
The Biscuit Screed System perfectly incorporates the thermal mass of screed with a suspended floor construction. A batten is fixed to the inside of the joist, PIR insulation is rested on the batten, to which the pipe is fixed to. Finally, a 20mm dry-mix sand and cement infill is laid over the pipe and finished flush with the top of the joist.
It is commonly mis-perceived that underfloor heating isn’t an option in suspended floors. Our R&D team have developed a range of suspended floor constructions to provide unrivalled heating perfection, within a common floor construction.
The Overlay Panel System Our 20mm Thick board incorporates a 16mm pipe with a 400micron foil to insure the maximum possible heat output, with minimal floor build-up
Is underfloor heating cheaper to run and more efficient than radiators?
Yes, underfloor heating is up to 25% cheaper to run than radiators with a condensing boiler, and up to 40% cheaper to run with a heat pump.
Is underfloor heating suitable for renovations?
Yes, we can design systems for renovations and retrofit projects.
Do I need a special boiler?
No, underfloor heating works with gas, oil and LPG boilers as well as heat pumps.
Is underfloor heating disruptive to install?
Our underfloor heating systems can be installed over any existing floor with minimal height build-up and on any floor level. Options range from installation over solid floors to solutions that can be fixed from above or below joists.
Is the make-up of my existing floor suitable for underfloor heating?
Let our design team know. 9 times out of 10 it will be suitable.
Will it work with my chosen floor covering?
Underfloor heating works with most floor coverings. Your system designer will take the floor covering into account when specifying the amount of tube needed in the floor to heat the room effectively.
What happens if there is a fault or a leak?
There are no joints in the underfloor heating tube laid in the floor and the tube we supply has a design life of over 50 years. So, unless the floor is badly damaged, it is extremely unlikely that there will ever be a leak.
Is my property suitable for underfloor heating?
All new Irish & UK properties will be suitable for underfloor heating, as they meet strict guidelines on insulation and air tightness. Older properties can have underfloor heating too, thanks to retrofit solutions that offer high heat outputs.
Does Warmth deal with the design element of underfloor heating?
Yes, Warmth offers a full UFH CAD design service including pipework layouts, heat output calculations and in some instances heat loss calculations. All design work is carried out to the relevant standards and guidelines.
What is the best way to control underfloor heating?
Control is a key element in underfloor heating, as it can make all the difference to the efficiency of the system. As UFH typically takes a longer time than radiators to heat up and cool down, this needs to be considered on the programming of the system. Warmth always recommends the use of a 7-day programmable thermostat, to maximise efficiencies and configure the heating to the lifestyle of the homeowner. There are also other upgrade options, for example smartphone control.
